Gary Musser
Senior Pastor
“I joined the staff at Jamul Community Church in 1987 and became the lead pastor in 1990. Prior to that I served nearly 20 years as a youth pastor at several churches. My wife Esther and I have been married for over 50 years, we have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Having a built-in desire to know people, I’m energized by watching people come to put their faith in Christ and grow in their faith.”
Danny Long
Administrative and Generations Pastor
“September 1995 was a great month, Nikki and I got married, and I started serving at JCC as the youth pastor. Whether it’s teaching on Sundays, leading Thrive midweeks, hanging out with students at an amusement park or wherever I am, I love watching God come alive in the lives of students. When I’m not doing church stuff I enjoy being with Nikki and our three kids, Keri, Bobby, and Elli doing just about anything!”
Byron Musser
Associate Pastor
Raised in San Diego, I started attending Jamul Community Church in 1987. After working in youth ministry for many years and graduating from Bethel Seminary, my wife and I served in Asia for 3 years. We have 3 children. I oversee Adult Ministries at JCC and am eager to journey together with the members of JCC as we apply scripture to our lives.
Ryan Murphy
Associate Pastor
“I grew up in Pennsylvania with a loving family but also a lot of heartache. Moving to San Diego seemed like a way to escape the pain, but fortunately for me, the end of road (literally, in Ocean Beach at the end of the 8 freeway!) was where God broke through. God channeled my love for youth and for words into teaching high school English, for four years at Grossmont and then for fourteen years at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya, East Africa. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary, I joined JCC to oversee the worship arts ministry on Sunday mornings, missions, social media, the podcast, and the young adult group.”
Jesse Nuñez
Youth Pastor
"I first was introduced to Jamul Community Church in 2013, when I attended Thrive as a senior in high school. I understood God’s calling to go into youth ministry during my summers with Indian Hills Camp (2014 and 2015). I then attended The Master’s University, and graduated with a Biblical Studies: Student Ministry degree in 2019. I met my wife Rachel back in 2016 and had the joy of going to college together and traveling a semester abroad with TMU’s IBEX program in the Fall of 2018. We lived in Israel for 3 months studying the Bible to return and be married in December of 2018. A few years later we welcomed our twin girls, Eloise and Margaret, in April of 2021. When I am not at JCC, I love spending time with my family and going on new adventures! You can find us at the zoo or at the beach!"
Diane Sitton
Elementary Director
“It is a joy to serve at Jamul Community Church as the Elementary Children’s Director. I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with other families as they teach their children about God’s great love. It is also a privilege to share the good news of Christ with the kids of our community through Sonshine Club, Adventure Week, and other ministries. On a personal note, I grew up here in Jamul. I left when I was nineteen to attend Biola University as a Christian Education major. While studying there I married my high school sweetheart, Grant Sitton. After graduation we started our family. While raising our three kids, God has given me various opportunities to serve him. Usually, these opportunities have focused on children. My most important ministry over all the years has been to daily seek Him with all my heart.”
Jennifer Stinnett
Preschool Director
“JCC has been like a second home to me since I was in fifth grade. I truly love the people of this church, and especially the kids! I am honored that God has called me to serve our preschoolers and their families. It is my fervent prayer that every child at JCC will grow up to love Jesus, like I did……and like my own kids are doing now. God is so good! Along with this wonderful church family, He has blessed me with the best husband and two children who are growing up way too fast! Ryan and I love spending our time at the pool, theater, and baseball field cheering them on. Even though we live in El Cajon now, I will always be a Jamulian at heart.”
Melissa Hester
Generations & Office Administrative Assistant
"I started attending Jamul Community Church in 2005. I began serving in student ministry then became an intern in 2006. And now God has brought me back to work here, what could be better. I love the people of this church and I love serving alongside them! It has been a wonderful blessing to me and my family. My husband Nathan and I were married in 2010 and were blessed with 2 children."
Olivia Carl
Office Administrative Assistant
"Technically, I have been attending JCC before I was born! This has been my home church since my family moved to Jamul in 1998. I appreciate how this church has encouraged my growth in Christ starting in the nursery, KidsWorld, Thrive, and now as a staff member! It's a joy to continue to serve this church body in new ways and experience how God is using the ministry at Jamul Community Church."
